Bring your Letterboxd films
The films you logged and loved, as a wall of posters.
How it works
- On Letterboxd, open Settings, then Data, and press Export Your Data.
- Unzip the download. Inside are watched.csv, diary.csv, ratings.csv, and watchlist.csv.
- In Moodshelf, open Add, then Import, then Letterboxd, and drop in whichever file you want.
- Each film comes in with its poster.
How to export your Letterboxd data
On letterboxd.com, open Settings from your profile menu and switch to the Data tab. Press Export Your Data and the download starts right away.
The download is a ZIP, not a single file, so unzip it first. Inside, watched.csv is everything you have marked as seen, diary.csv is your dated log, ratings.csv carries your stars, and watchlist.csv is what you mean to see.
Upload whichever slice you want to keep. Many people start with watched.csv and add their watchlist as a second import.
Questions
Do posters come over?
Yes. Each film is matched back to its page and arrives with its poster.
Do my ratings come over?
Yes. A film you rated shows its rating alongside.
Can I import my watchlist too?
Yes. Any of the CSVs in the export works: watched, diary, ratings, or watchlist.
How many films can I bring on the free plan?
The free shelf holds 500 items, and each film counts as one. If an import would go past that, Moodshelf asks you first.
Do I need the browser extension?
Not for Letterboxd. The CSV import works right in the app.
